One system for everything:
APC Advanced Police Carbine

The APC is a family of weapons in a variety of calibers and configurations for any type of mission that a Police agency or a military unit may be called upon to perform.

From inspiration to the finished product

“Development Expertise” is a concept that when an idea is first imagined, it is put on paper free hand, later on a CAD program and finally into the prototype stage for a hands-on testing. It is a term that comes from the IT industry but perfectly describes what happens at B&T.

At the moments of idea generation Karl Brügger cannot be stopped. For example, when he had the original idea in his mind for the APC9 as the next generation police carbine and sub-machine gun, he called a meeting and planted the same idea in the imagination of his design team. They were able to take the inspiration and turn it to a practical carbine concept. If a twelve-hour day is not enough, then a night at the kitchen table is added.

The ergonomics for the entire APC family are identical. The fire controls are completely ambidextrous. This includes: A. Fire selector B. Bolt release C. Magazine release D. Charging handle
First version of the APC went from the kitchen table to prototype in less than 45 days.

Hydraulic Buffer

This is a true original from B&T. The force of the recoil does not slam on any part of the gun but is sharply reduced by the hydraulic buffer. This is not unlike the shock absorbers on a car. This reduction of recoil helps the operator to maintain tight shot groups and quick follow up shots. This feature will also increase the service life of the weapon.

Identical handling and manipulation

The entire range of APC products uses all the same ergonomics and manipulation techniques. This will save the agency or unit many hours on the range training and much in the expenditure of ammunition as the handling is identical regardless of caliber.

An interesting design feature of the APC is that more than 50% of all parts are interchangeable between the different platforms. From the APC9 K PRO which is only slightly larger than A4-sized piece of paper to the full size APC308 in 7.62 x 51 mm caliber the system offers a wide range of difference tactical options: different barrel lengths, muzzle flash, suppressors, bipods, shoulder stocks as well as mounts, handgrips and optics. If we don’t make, you don’t need it…

On request, B&T offers authorities the possibilities of further magazine options.

APC in small arms calibers

The APC versions that are chambered for pistol ammunition are offered in a wide range of calibers. These are:

9 x 19mm
10mm Auto
.40 S&W
.45 ACP
and
9mm FX

These can be supplied in either semi-automatic or select-fire versions.

For large agencies or for strategic procurement the APC system offers a convincing special solution.
The trigger group can be exchanged so the magazines for the Glock or SIG320/M17 pistol can be used. This unique feature allows police agencies other units to use the magazines from their duty pistols in the carbines/submachine guns.

APC in rifle calibers

This product is designed for higher risk operations where increased penetration and terminal ballistics are required.

Typically a police patrol carbine is not an individual weapon like a pistol. It is often referred to as a collective weapon as it is passed from shift to shift and will be handled by many different persons in a 24-hour period. That is the reason why this product can be easily adapted and comes in a wide range of calibers. These are:

APC556 in 5.56 x 45mm
APC223 in .223 Remington
APC300 in .300 Blackout
APC308 in .308 Win or 7.62 x 51 mm

The APC300 for the .300 Whisper or .300 AAC Blackout cartridge has a special position in the product range as it is new caliber with much potential. The ranges and terminal ballistics with supersonic ammunition makes it a good choice for all-around patrolling. The quiet sound signature and limited range made with sub-sonic ammunition makes it an excellent choice for urban police work.
